Onboarding questions

Updated over a week ago

Gigapay is required to collect certain information about users to make sure to fulfill its legal obligations, in regards to e.g. tax reporting and bookkeeping. The exact data required depends on a number of factors, such as the recipient's tax residency and whether they are an individual, soletrader, or company.

Individual

Gigapay is required to report all compensations to private individuals to the Swedish tax authority ("Skatteverket"). If you are performing your service in a country other than Sweden, a so-called exchange of income statement is usually carried out (some exceptions apply). This means that the Swedish Tax Agency may share the information with your tax authority. This entails that your tax agency will be informed about the compensation you have received from Gigapay. Therefore, we advise you to be careful with paying and reporting your taxes and registering your activity as a digital creator (if relevant).

You are responsible for paying your own taxes, social fees, subscribing to your own insurance(s), and ensuring that you comply with applicable laws and regulations. You can read more about the terms of use of the Service in the Terms and Conditions.

The information Gigapay is requesting is i.a. Name, address, TIN number, personal number (if relevant), country of work, nationality(ies), VAT number (if relevant), date of birth, copy of an ID, Bank account number, license, name of Agency, A1 form (if relevant). The information may vary slightly depending on the country. If relevant, Gigapay is also asking you about your ties to Sweden.

You will not be able to receive compensation, without providing all of the requested information.

Company & Sole trader

If you have a registered company or are a sole trader, Gigapay will request all information necessary to identify the company. Gigapay is asking for the information in order to ensure that the correct amount is sent to the correct entity. As you will be using our self-billing feature, the information will also be automatically added to the invoice. Be aware that you should always read through the invoice and verify that all the information is correct before approving it.
